Description

Oh, you'll love how the Arboricola makes everything feel right in your home! Those perfectly arranged umbrella-shaped leaves create such a welcoming presence, and this Umbrella Plant brings that ideal balance of structure and softness to any space.

This Schefflera Arboricola has been winning hearts for decades with its forgiving nature and those lovely umbrella leaves. Growing 3-7 feet tall (0.9-2.1 meters), your Arboricola will become a cherished companion that quietly purifies your air while adding that special touch of green life. Our customers adore how reliable these plants are - they're truly built for those long-term plant relationships we all treasure!

Care

How do I care for an Arboricola?

You'll love how easy Arboricola care is! Give your plant bright indirect light and water when the soil feels dry. It handles normal room temperatures like a champ and forgives you completely if you're still learning plant care routines.

Is Arboricola a good indoor plant?

Your Arboricola is absolutely wonderful indoors, adapting easily to different home conditions while quietly cleaning your air all day. It’s forgiving with watering schedules and doesn't stress when life gets busy, giving you one less thing to worry about.

Does Arboricola like sun or shade?

The Arboricola loves bright indirect light best, though it'll handle some shade without any complaints whatsoever. Direct harsh sunlight can scorch those umbrella leaves, so we always recommend that perfect filtered light for its happiest growth and health.

How often should I water an Arboricola?

Water your Arboricola when the top few inches of soil feel dry, usually every week or two depending on your home's conditions. It's not fussy about exact timing - just check the soil and you'll know when it's ready!

Can I put my Umbrella Plant outside in the summer?

Your Umbrella Plant loves summer outdoor time with fresh air and natural humidity to perk it right up. Just protect it from harsh afternoon sun and bring it inside before temperatures drop below 54°F (12°C) in the fall.

Where is the best place to put an Umbrella Plant in the house?

We always tell our customers to place Umbrella Plants near east or north-facing windows for that perfect bright, indirect light. Keep it away from cold drafts and heating vents where temperature swings might stress it out unnecessarily.

Do Umbrella Plants like to be misted?

Light misting is lovely for your Umbrella Plant - like giving it a gentle spa day that brightens its week! Heavy daily misting isn't necessary, though. Instead, think about using a humidity tray to create the best conditions.

How much light does an Arboricola need?

Your Arboricola needs about 4-5 hours of bright indirect light daily to maintain those lovely colors and healthy growth patterns. Less light means it might get a bit leggy and lose that full, lush look we all love so much.

What fertilizer is best for Arboricola?

Feed your Arboricola with a balanced liquid fertilizer at half strength monthly during spring and summer growing seasons when it's actively growing. Think gentle nourishment rather than big meals, and skip winter feeding when it's naturally resting.

Pet-friendly?

Caution - your Arboricola isn't safe for curious pets. They contain compounds that can make pets sick, so it's important to keep them somewhere your furry family members can't reach.

Are Arboricola toxic to dogs?

Arboricolas are toxic to dogs and can cause drooling, vomiting, and mouth irritation if nibbled on by curious pups. If your dog gets a taste, contact your vet right away - we always recommend being cautious with plant safety around pets.

Are Arboricola toxic to cats?

Arboricolas are toxic to cats, causing drooling and stomach upset that can make them quite uncomfortable and miserable. Keep it away from curious kitties who might think those umbrella leaves look tempting to explore with their mouths and paws.

Factoids

How tall do Schefflera Arboricolas get?

Indoor Schefflera Arboricolas typically reach 3-8 feet tall (0.9-2.1 meters), perfect for making a statement without overwhelming your living space completely. Outdoors in their natural habitat they can hit 25 feet - but don't worry about that happening indoors, even with proper care!

Is an Arboricola air-purifying?

Your Arboricola works quietly to remove toxins like benzene and formaldehyde from your air while looking lovely doing it. It’s a living air filter that just needs occasional watering and appreciation for all that hard work around your home.

Why is Schefflera Arboricola called an Umbrella Plant?

Those lovely leaves feature 7-9 leaflets radiating from each stem like perfect umbrella spokes in such a distinctive pattern! Once you see that arrangement, you'll understand exactly why this Umbrella Plant earned such a fitting and descriptive name.

Mostly great, except one little annoyance
Color: Black&Silver, Color: Black&Silver
Pros- lightweight, small, very accurate, easy to clean, timer included. Cons- I use this to brew espresso on my Breville Touch and to get an accurate reading, you have to place something flat (structured) under the scale. Otherwise the reading just jumps all over the place. I know lot of espresso machines have the same base, so this might be an issue for some! This is my reason for 4/5 stars. It’s an easy fix, it’s just kind of annoying. Value for the price seems to be on point. It’s easy to clean. It has a timer as well as scale (nice for espresso). Buttons work the first time you push them. That’s it that’s all

Nice Matcha
Flavor Name: Ceremony Matcha-1.06oz
The flavor of this is very smooth and not bitter like some other matchas I’ve tried in the past. It’s very easy to incorporate into water and tastes amazing with soy milk and strawberry syrup. I’d say this is very fresh tasting and smelling. I did have consistent energy throughout the day with no crash which is a plus. Only warning is be very careful because the tin and product are very light I accidentally knocked it over the first day I had it and half the matcha fell onto the floor and was wasted. I’ve now learned to be very slow around it so I don’t drop it again.

REVIEW FROM A NON-BEGINNER HERE
Flavor Name: Ceremony Matcha-1.06oz, Flavor Name: Ceremony Matcha-1.06oz
I’ve been drinking matcha for years and I’m very particular with the quality and how I make it. I’ve tried many matchas, so I hope my review helps you. Would I buy again? - Yes. This matcha is great for someone who likes quality matcha without spending too much money. I would drink this as my daily matcha. - I can taste the difference between this matcha and a more expensive one, but I’d say this (price point aside) is about 90% in quality, taste, and experience if the expensive ones are 100%. Price: $12.59 after tax for 30g (bought on sale) Packaging: - Tin foil seal with pull tab, matcha loose in container, no bag inside of container - Comes with a rubber piece to keep matcha sealed after opening, very nice - Comes with a small metal spoon? - Top and bottom pieces separate from main container but don’t seem to have a function (see picture) Matcha: - In comparison to other high end matchas, this seems ever so slightly more coarse ground but doesn’t seem to have an effect on experience (no grainy feel) - the flavor has slightly less “matcha flavor” but for the price point, it exceeds my expectations, may just have to increase the ratio of matcha - Color: vibrant green, not dull oxidized color like some low end matchas - Mouth feel: Nice buttery and smooth - Caffeine: I am unfortunately not sensitive to caffeine so I can’t speak on the topic How I make my matcha lattes (so you can check my credentials or learn how to make as a beginner getting into matcha): 1. Heat water to 175°F/80°C, soak bamboo whisk for 5 minutes before using to soften the bristles 2. Two scoops of matcha (≈2g) with bamboo scoop (not provided with this product) into matcha bowl through a sieve (if you have one) 3. Slowly pour water into bowl, about 2oz/60ml 4. Use the whisk to gently swirl the matcha so that there is no dry powder left 5. Whisk vigorously in a “W” shape for 20 seconds (careful not to press the whisk into the bottom of bowl, it’s fragile) 6. Bring the whisk to the surface of the matcha and gently whisk in a “W” shape until the bubbles are broken up into smaller ones, aka “microfoam”, about 10 seconds 7. Finish up by swirling the matcha with the whisk in a gentle circle shape, leaving a small peak of foam in the middle as you pull the whisk from the surface. 8. (Optional) Combine with ice, milk (I use half and half, about 8oz), and sweetener to make a latte (add the sweetener after it’s in the glass so that you don’t expose sugar to the whisk) 9. Rinse matcha whisk and bowl with hot water, place whisk carefully back on holder, making sure not to snag any bristles For beginners: - Don’t use boiling water, it will burn the matcha and cause the flavor to suffer - BE SO GENTLE WITH THE WHISK PLEASE, and make sure you soak it before hand or it will be more prone to breakage - Get a whisk holder. The whisk will be prone to mold if stored upside down (bristles up) - When soaking the whisk, there should be a faint line about 1 cm down from the string binding, that’s where the water line should be. Don’t submerge the binding area or it will be more brittle and prone to mold. - A sieve is a worthwhile investment for a smooth matcha experience - All matchas naturally oxidize, so use within 1-3 months for a good experience, it’s not a feature of bad quality matcha, it’s just how all matcha is - Color matters. If it’s dull, that means it is old or bad quality, bright vibrant green is what you’re looking for - It’s normal for matcha to “settle” on the bottom of the glass after sitting for a while, just give it a swirl to remix it I wish you all luck on your matcha journey! If you’re a beginner, there’s a lot to learn, but it’s so worth it!
